Generally, it starts by gently washing the chorizo under running water to remove any surface dirt, followed by careful drying with kitchen paper or a clean cloth. Some people choose to remove the outer skin of the chorizo before consumption, which can be achieved by making a shallow cut along the length of the chorizo and peeling the skin off with a sharp knife.
Once cleaned and, if preferred, peeled, the chorizo is cut into thin slices or chunks, depending on presentation preferences.
It is important to remember that ‘chorizo oreado’ is a cured and ready-to-eat product, so it does not require cooking before consumption. However, if a more intense flavour is desired, it can be lightly browned in a frying pan before serving.

It should be kept in a refrigerated and dry place, between 1ºC and 8ºC.
